Chocolate Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds

[/special_heading]

All you hear about is overnight oats lately and I’m so horrible about eating breakfast that I figured I’d give it a try.  After some research (because where else do you start?) I found one with chia seeds that sounded yummy.

I’m all about my mise .  So my first step is always to get all the ingredients laid out and ready to go.  Not so important with this recipe but it still makes the process easier.  I never used to do this before we had a dishwasher because there was no reason to make more dishes than I need to.

[special_heading5 title_content= “STEP 2” h_tag= “h2” title_color= “rgba(190,216,216,1)” caption_content= “Combine” caption_font= “special” caption_color= “” title_alignment= “center” hide_in= “” css_id= “” css_classes= “” animate= “1” animation_type= “none” animation_delay= “0” animation_duration= “300” padding= ‘{“d”:””}’ margin= ‘{“d”:””}’ border_style= ‘{“d”:”solid”,”l”:”solid”,”t”:”solid”,”m”:”solid”}’ border= ‘{“d”:””}’ border_color= “” border_radius= “” box_shadow= “0px 0px 0px 0px rgba(0,0,0,0)” divider_style= “both” divider_color= “#efefef” key= “BkGWnyvWlr”][/special_heading5]

This breakfast can’t be any easier to make.  You literally mix the dry ingredients together.  I like to do this so you don’t end up with weird clumps, then add the wet and give it one more mix.

[special_heading5 title_content= “STEP 3” h_tag= “h2” title_color= “rgba(190,216,216,1)” caption_content= “Chill” caption_font= “special” caption_color= “” title_alignment= “center” hide_in= “” css_id= “” css_classes= “” animate= “1” animation_type= “none” animation_delay= “0” animation_duration= “300” padding= ‘{“d”:””}’ margin= ‘{“d”:””}’ border_style= ‘{“d”:”solid”,”l”:”solid”,”t”:”solid”,”m”:”solid”}’ border= ‘{“d”:””}’ border_color= “” border_radius= “” box_shadow= “0px 0px 0px 0px rgba(0,0,0,0)” divider_style= “both” divider_color= “#efefef” key= “rJzRZGvWgH”][/special_heading5]

You need to let is sit overnight.  I added it to a clip top Tupperware and let it chill in the fridge overnight.  Just like the title tells you to do.

Voila, Chocolate overnight oats!

This is the most fun part in my opinion.  The recipe didn’t call for toppings but even with yogurt I need something to give it texture.  A little more greek yogurt, walnuts, raspberry jam and fresh raspberry.

Who doesn’t love the combo of chocolate and raspberry so this was a great choice.   I don’t know if I would change my choices.

MY THOUGHTS

Did it Work? What Didn’t?
Will I adjust anything next time…..

It’s not rocket science or anything but I liked them more than I thought I would.  I would say the portions that I made were too filling and could be even smaller.  This will definitely be adding this to my list of summer breakfasts.
