HAVE A PLAN!!
Have you ever had a moment where you just knew you had to get moving? Even if you’ve been making progress at a slow and steady pace. Learning new key skills everyday that will be useful in the future. Finding and following your passion to your exact niche. That is my journey in a nutshell and I’ve had enough!
This is a great use for leftover steak. Sautee some bread in olive oil until golden, top with thinly sliced steak, beefsteak tomatoes and blue cheese crumbles. I threw these bad boys under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese softened.
I topped with some Italian flat leaf parsley. It could have used a little bit of tang and I’m thinking next time to spread a little dijon on the bread before layering the steak etc. Other than that perfecto!
Since this is my first time doing NaNoWriMo I figured I should write about my experience. Since I’m participating a different way that most. This year I’m not writing a book. My goal is to create 50,000 words of content. Blog Posts, Articles & Journal Entries & SOP’s all count.
So far I’ve been making sure the food posts that have made it live now have fully designed Blog Posts that I can link to. There isn’t that many words in a post (around 350 on average) but I’m at least using the content I’ve been creating since we moved to Colorado. It looks like to keep up with my daily numbers (plus I have some catching up to do) I’ll need to complete 5.5 posts. That’s a little tricky but my plan for this week is to get as caught up as I can today, then jump on it again tomorrow morning so hopefully by the end of the day I can be above my word count.
I know that things are going to get crazy around the holidays so I’d like to stay on top of things. I’d also like to not spend my Thanksgiving worrying about another day where I should be doing other things than writing.
Some things that I leaned this week is since I’m having to recompile all the info I need for the post (hunting down the original blog/recipe that I used when I created it AND what adjustments I made) I’ve only completed about 1200 words today (not counting this) in an hour and a half.
If I’m just writing I’m creating way more words than those blog posts. I didn’t write two of the days for week 1 and that really set me back. We went out on Saturday night and spent most of the day putting the boat away and since we didn’t store it correctly this summer it was disgusting and had to be washed inside and out then Pete had us put 303 on it to keep the rubber supple during the winter. That took longer than expected and I didn’t have a chance or the motivation to write before we left for dinner.
While we were at the show I had the grand ambition to come home and write (I had an extra hour from the time change) but at 2am I wasn’t in the mood to write anything. I just needed to shut my eyes and try to catch up today.
