Summary

I love a Ted Talk.  I have a playlist on my YouTube page with my favorites and whenever I need to motivate myself I pick one and watch.  The one below is about being a Master Procrastinator is amazing and really funny.

TAKEAWAYS

BIGGEST LESSON

Always have deadlines in place.  A Master Procrastinator needs something to awaken the Panic Monster so even if its your project made sure you have firm timelines in place and make them public so you have accountability.  Social embarrassment will work just as well.

FUNNIEST CONCEPT

The instant gratification monkey is real.  I’ve defiantly ended up going on a YouTube spiral but I have been much more aware of how I’m spending my time.  If I need to get stuff done and don’t really feel like it I tend to just say “I’ll do it for 1 hour” and all you need to do is get started.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT

The Life Calendar.  I need to make one of these because there isn’t a better motivator than your own mortality.

WHERE I HEARD ABOUT IT

It’s been hard to find UX podcasts but there is one that I’ve really been liking …. What Is Wrong With UX.  This talk was mentioned as a must see.
